What a Miyagi Student Ambassador is

An ambassador is a student leader. You help your classmates use Miyagi. You organise revision and study activity in your school.

You are the link between the students in your school and the Miyagi team.

What you will do

  • Help classmates who are new to Miyagi get started, and answer their questions.
  • Bring students to revision sessions and challenges.
  • Organise study groups with your classmates.
  • Tell the Miyagi team what students are struggling with, so we can fix it.
  • Check on students who have gone quiet.

What this is not

  • You are not a salesperson. You will never be asked to sell anything.
  • You will not be judged on how many people you sign up. You are judged on how many classmates you actually helped.
  • You are not expected to send promotional messages to your friends.
  • You will not be asked to work during your own national exams.

What you get

  • An ambassador kit and a certificate.
  • Airtime and data support, so the role does not cost you money.
  • Recognition for your work.
  • A path to bigger roles, including leading other ambassadors.
  • Mentorship and opportunities for the students who do this well.
  • College admission counselling, to help you apply to university.
  • A direct line to the Miyagi team, where your feedback changes the product.

Who can apply

  • You are in Grade 7 to Grade 12, including Form 3 and Form 4.
  • You are in a Kenyan school.
  • You already use Miyagi, or you are genuinely willing to start.
  • You can give about two to three hours a week.
  • Your parent or guardian knows you are applying.

What happens after you apply

  1. 1We read every application.
  2. 2We select a small number of ambassadors at a time, so not everyone who applies will be selected straight away.
  3. 3If you are selected, we contact you and your guardian.
  4. 4If you are not selected this round, you stay in the programme as a student and can be considered later.

Note for parents and guardians

We contact a parent or guardian before any student is confirmed as an ambassador. All group activity is supervised by a named member of the Miyagi team. Student information is used only to run the programme.

Ready to apply?

The application form takes about five minutes. It opens in a new tab.
